Anglesey holiday park sold for £15m

COUNTRY and leisure parks operator Park Leisure has acquired the 5-star Plas Coch Holiday Home Park on Anglesey for £15m.

Advised by property consultants Colliers International, the deal represents the largest holiday park transaction in Wales for four years.

Plas Coch, which means Red Mansion in Welsh, is ideally located close to the shallow tidal waters of the Menai Strait. The 320-pitch holiday park provides state-of-the-art static caravans, cabins and lodges in a range of sizes, available to buy and to let.

Set amongst 60 acres of parkland, visitors and holiday home owners benefit from access to the Elizabethan Plas Coch Manor House which is home to the exclusive Manor Bar and 1569 Restaurant.

The park – previously owned by the McAllister family – also boasts a private marine boat club, where guests can take cruises to the shadows of Snowdon, alongside a spa with sauna, steam room, salt chamber and indoor swimming pool.

Plas Coch is the 11th park to join the Park Leisure Group and is the Group’s first holiday home park acquisition in Wales.

Grant Gidman, head of marketing for Park Leisure, said: “Plas Coch is truly stunning and ideally represents the evolution of our 5-star vision for our parks.  By welcoming the UK’s most sought after Holiday Park to the group, we believe we will be inspired to continue to push the boundaries of excellence for our owners.”

Richard Moss, director of parks, sports and marinas for Colliers added: “I advised Park Leisure on the acquisition of their first park 17 years ago and it’s inspiring to see how the brand has evolved and expanded over that time. With parks across the North and another in Cornwall, Park Leisure’s latest acquisition of this prestigious 5-star holiday park in North Wales cements the group’s transition from a regional business to a national operator.”

The deal comes off the back of Colliers’ acquisition of Silver Sands Leisure Park in Scotland for Bridge Leisure Parks earlier this year, meaning Colliers has been integral in the largest holiday park deals in both Scotland and Wales in recent years.
