Appointments: New partner for Leigh Day; MC2; Linder Myers & more

LAW firm Leigh Day has appointed specialist industrial disease expert Helen Ashton as a partner in its Manchester office.

Joining the firm form Irwin Mitchell in London, where she was a partner, she is an expert in advising victims of asbestos exposure.

LINDER Myers Solicitors has added solicitor Megan Christie to its Court of Protection team in Manchester.

She joins from Irwin Mitchell and will be assisting with managing the property and financial affairs deputyships of vulnerable clients who have lost mental capacity ranging from young children with acquired brain injuries and cerebral palsy, to elderly clients suffering with dementia.

Simon Heapy, Court of Protection partner said: “Megan is a very welcome addition to the team and will be assisting with our growing client base. She brings solid experience in court of protection, personal injury and industrial disease having previously worked at Irwin Mitchell and completing her training at Pannone prior to that.”

COMMUNICATIONS agency MC2 has strengthened its business advisory team with the appointment of PR director Jacqueline Booker and ex-journalist Tim Wood.
 
Booker joins Manchester firm MC2 from London agency Johnson King, where she led IT security accounts for clients including Anaplan, Comtek and Cyber-Ark Software.
 
Wood has arrived at MC2 from Opus Business Media, where he was editor of Tomorrow’s FM magazine for two years.
 
MC2’s business  team delivers integrated communications campaigns for public and private sector clients, including manufacturer James Briggs, wound care specialist Crawford Healthcare, Business Growth Hub and Bright Futures Educational Trust.
