LIVERPOOL John Lennon Airport has reported growth in passenger numbers of 7.5% in May. The rise was the fourth consecutive year-on-year monthly increase in passenger throughput.

The airport, which is owned by Peel Group, said passenger figures for the first five months of 2015 are now over 5% higher than for the same period in 2014.

It attributes its recent strong performance to new route announcements including Flybe flights to Amsterdam with onward worldwide connections starting in September and Aer Lingus flights to Dublin with onward US connections starting in October.

AN innovator of medical monitoring prooducts has agreed loan deal to bring its patented products to market.

 e Lucid m Health, based at Manchester Science Park, has secured £49,500 from the North West Fund for Micro Loans.

The fund, which is managed by Business Finance Solutions and the Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF), provides loans of £25,000 to £50,000 to businesses at all stages.
 
e Lucid m Health, will be using the funds to continue the development of a range of remote dispensing and monitoring devices, which will address the serious £350m.
 
One of the first inventions is eBottle, an intelligent remote dispensing system for the safe delivery of tablets which has multiple applications across toxic or time sensitive drug regimes.

THE Manchester office of UHY Hacker Young has been appointed as auditor by property developer, investor and asset manager, Property Alliance Group.

Founded in 2003 by managing director David Russell, the PAG based in Trafford Park has a mixed property portfolio of £190m.  

Brian Leyland, partner at UHY, has a number of property investment and development clients and sees exciting times for the sector. “The removal of the uncertainty that has clouded the last year of the coalition will allow developers to plan confidently with a consistent economic policy.”

THE Government’s chief construction adviser, Peter Hansford, has been confirmed as a speaker at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s Construction Summit on July 15 .

The event, which will take place at The Point at Emirates Old Trafford, is the largest forum of its kind outside of London and is set to attract over 500 delegates from across the region.

At the event, delegates will be able to vote on the issues affecting the industry such as skills and training, procurement and innovation, using voting pads. The results will then be passed to key decision-makers in the construction industry as well as forming part of the Chamber’s campaigning agenda.

Hansford, said: “I am looking forward to the North West Summit.  I’m sure that, once again, it will provide an excellent opportunity for the industry in the region to come together to discuss progress being made towards our long-term aim of transforming construction in this country and driving growth in the economy.”

A NEW dental practice has opened its doors in Bolton after funding support from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Denuvo Dental, located at 143 Lea Gate in Harwood, has been launched by husband and wife team Janet and Jonathan Hill who are both experienced dental surgeons.

The new state-of-the-art private practice will provide a full range of  routine dentistry services using the newest materials and modern techniques. Cosmetic treatments including bridges, crowns, dentures, porcelain inlays, teeth whitening and veneers.

RBS has provided funding to support the set up costs of the practice and to finance the lease of the new premises on Lea Gate.

Janet Hill said: “We are thrilled that Denuvo Dental is now up and running.  It has been a long term ambition of ours to run and own our own practice but thanks to the support we have received from RBS our dream has become our reality.
