B&M opens up at Edge Lane

DISCOUNTER B&M has opened its 30,000sq ft store at Edge Lane in Liverpool, creating 75 jobs.
B&M has signed an eight-year lease with The Derwent Group on the former MFI unit following a refurbishment.
Demolition works have meanwhile taken place in the surrounding area to significantly increase the availability of parking, which now stands at 206 spaces.
B&M shares the site with a well-established Halfords store.
The letting and refurbishment works form part of the first stage of the redevelopment of Derwent’s Edge Lane retail park estate and enhances the frontage and appearance along the main arterial route of Edge Lane into Liverpool city centre, contributing to the wider regeneration of this area of the city.
The Derwent Group has consent for a major retail and leisure scheme on the other side of Edge Lane and is actively engaging with the key retail tenants with support from the City Council.
James Maule-Ffinch, Senior Asset Manager at Derwent said: “B&M’s opening is great news for Edge Lane and for the surrounding area and we’re confident that this will kick-start our wider retail development plans there.”
Agents for the Edge Lane retail park estate are McMullen Wilson and Petch & Co.
