WIRRAL-based brand and digital agency The Loft has been granted membership in the prestigious Design Business Association (DBA).

After meeting the standards required, with its effective and creative design solutions, The Loft will join a select group of 450 nationwide members – 48% of which are London based.

The DBA is the trade organisation for the UK design industry, focused on promoting professional excellence and building productive partnerships between commerce and the design industry. The association champions effective design, communicating its value and the impact it can have on business performance.

Creative Director of The Loft Becki Wilson said: “It gives the team and I a great sense of pride and achievement to have secured a membership in the Design Business Association, as it is made up of such high calibre design professionals spanning across the UK.”

UMIP, The University of Manchester’s intellectual property and commercialisation agent, has appointed three firms to act as patent agents.

Specialist firms HGF Ltd, Mewburn Ellis and Appleyard Lees made the final cut, following a rigorous and highly competitive tender process, which saw high quality responses from a large pool of applicants.

Head of IP services at UMIP Clare Arkwright said: “We’re confident each of these prestigious patent firms will add value to UMIP’s business through high quality drafting and prosecution of patents and the provision of appropriate strategic advice.  We are very much looking forward to a productive partnership with each of the firms.”

KMP Digitata has announced announced it has been appointed by commercial property specialist Bruntwood as its new digital partner.

The team at KMP based in Stockport have won the contract to work on Bruntwood’s corporate digital strategy following a competitive pitch process involving a number of other agencies.

It involves moving its current website into a new dynamic sphere to help shape their online presence by redefining the customer experience of Bruntwood, as well as strengthening the brand digitally with redesign and development of the site.
