Membership soaring at Professional Liverpool

MEMBERSHIP at Professional Liverpool has reached a record high with a 10% increase over the last year alone.

The organisation, which exists to promote the growing financial and professionals sector in the Liverpool city region, now has more than 220 member firms which employ around 7,000 business individuals.

The upsurge in membership has helped to bolster revenues for the organisation which means that although it is a “not-for-profit organisation”, overheads are now covered by subscriptions and any event income that is generated.

The growth of Professional Liverpool is in line with a recent report ‘Beyond the City’ which highlighted that Northern regions will lead growth in the professional services sector by 14% over the next five years. It goes on to say more than 330,000 new professional services jobs will be created nationwide over the same period.

“We certainly hope that many of these jobs will be created in the Liverpool city region,” said John Hall, chief executive of Professional Liverpool.

“This report reflects the growth we have seen with new companies joining from varying sectors such as healthcare, creative and digital, marketing and communications and leisure.

“The historic narrow definition of a professional, for example, banking, law, accountancy, broking and insurance is now out-dated so this diversification affords members a wider network of contacts with whom to interact.”
