Agency becomes digital partner for NOMA

DIGITAL agency magneticNorth has been appointed as the official digital strategy partner for NOMA, the 20-acre redevelopment scheme set in the heart of Manchester.

Delivering the project are the Co-operative Group and Hermes Investment Management, working collaboratively in a 50/50 partnership to transform the area into a new city neighbourhood.

MagneticNorth will be working closely with the partners to ensure that digital innovation sits at the heart of every aspect of the regeneration.

The vision will focus heavily on the creation of a ‘truly connected’ neighbourhood.

The partnership has been two and a half years in the making, with the designers already creating a series of digital pilots for NOMA including a transport data project and the recent audio walking tours application.

Most recently, the designers worked with NOMA to deliver ‘#NameOurSquare’ a social media campaign to find a name of the new square, which opens to the public later this week.

MagneticNorth chief executive Lou Cordwellsaid: “We’re excited to be working with NOMA in the planning and execution of their vision for this new city neighbourhood. This is a rare opportunity to build from the ground up a prototype district that will showcase the way that cities will operate in the future.”

Nicky Moore, Brand and Marketing Manager at NOMA, said: “We recognise the significance of this in terms of the wider digital ambitions of the city. The NOMA team are looking forward to continuing our relationship with magneticNorth and excited about what we have planned.”
