THE employment & HR team at Napthens solicitors has been strengthened by the appointment of solicitor Roxanne Buckley.

Buckley, who completed her training at Glaisyers Solicitors LLP in Manchester, previously worked as a litigation case handler within the Lender Services department at Shoosmiths.

She completed her law degree at Manchester Metropolitan University, having studied the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School.

At Napthens’ Preston office, she will advise clients on a range of issues relating to employment law, as well as assisting the corporate team on matters resulting from business disposals, acquisitions and redundancy.

NATIONAL green services company Glendale has appointed Alex Paterson as regional director for the north.
 
Based at the company’s head office in Chorley, Lancashire, Paterson will be responsible for operational and financial performance in the region.
 
He joins Glendale from resource management company Veolia, where he was director for the Merseyside area for six years.
   
With 12 years’ experience in the chemicals, energy, waste and environmental sectors, this is the first green services role for Alex, who completed a MBA at the University of Liverpool.
 
Paterson said: “I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead, working with the team of experts at Glendale and contributing to the development of the business. I’m keen to build relationships and engage with staff, to clearly outline our objectives going forward.”

RETAIL display installation experts CJ Retail Solutions has announced the appointment of communications specialist Mike Houghton as its new marketing director.
 
In his new position at the Runcorn-based agency, Houghton will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s values and proposition are communicated and implemented correctly.

This will involve working hand-in-hand with the sales and operations teams on a day-to-day basis and, as a member of the board, Houghton will contribute significantly to the scope and strategic growth of the business.
 
He brings with him a wealth of retail experience, having worked with some of the UK’s leading blue-chip companies, primarily in the grocery retail and retail banking sectors. Mike also has experience of agency side operations having run his own successful marketing consultancy for the previous eight years.

BROTHER UK, the Manchester-based information, communication and technology business, has announced the appointment of Mike Anderson as its new head of marketing.

Anderson has more than 13 years’ experience in traditional and digital marketing and has worked for Brother UK for the past five years, most recently as market development manager.

In his new role, he will lead the 25-strong UK marketing team and have strategic responsibility for all areas of marketing, including advertising, corporate communications, digital, events, public relations and mobile.

Managing director Phil Jones said: “Mike has played a fundamental role in the development and execution of our marketing activity over the past five years and his knowledge and insight of the business, as well as the wider technology sector means he is well placed to spearhead the next stage of our strategic development.”
