Comedian confirmed for Northern Powerhouse dinner
IMPRESSIONIST and comedian Alistair McGowan has been confirmed as the speaker for the UK Northern Powerhouse Conference & Exhibition Conference dinner.
The dinner is taking place on the first day of the event on Thursday 25 February 2016.
McGowan is best known for the TV show ‘The Big Impression’, which was, for four years, one of BBC1’s top-rating comedy programmes.
Keith Griffiths, co-founder of the UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition, said: “It is an absolute pleasure to have such a well-known impressionist and stand-up comic at our Conference dinner to entertain guests and conclude the first day of our Conference and Exhibition.
“We look forward to welcoming Alistair in February and him being a part of our event.”
The UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition is a two-day event supported by the chief executives of all the major city councils of the North, as well as chief executives of major national businesses and international trade delegations.
The event will see more than 2,000 delegates take part in discussions and interactive sessions led by senior representatives from sectors as diverse as retail, transport, logistics, property, tech, energy and finance.
