BURY-based property consultancy Nolan Redshaw has promoted Andrew Ashworth to the role of associate director.
 
Ashworth joined Nolan Redshaw in 2008 and since then has worked primarily within the professional department.

Nolan Redshaw director Mike Redshaw said: “ Andrew has made a significant contribution to the business and his promotion is in recognition of his achievements and consistent hard work.
 
“Andrew will be concentrating on professional, investment and development work and is currently involved with a number of major projects across the North of England.”

The company recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and is active in all aspects of commercial property.

LIVERPOOL musician Peter Hooton is to take the helm of a brand new group aimed at helping the Fab Four’s tourist offer reach its full potential.

Peter will be chair of The Beatles Legacy Group which has been established following a report released earlier this month which revealed that The Beatles legacy is worth £81.9m to the city’s economy and supports 2,335 jobs.

The report is the first study of contemporary value to examine the impact of The Beatles on the city, and although it recognised the popularity and success of the current visitor offer, it also noted the challenges facing its future and the need to find a way to curate and maintain the authenticity of The Beatles heritage for both existing and future fans.

Joining Peter on the group will be director of Culture Claire McColgan, Marketing Liverpool director Chris Brown, chief executive of the Liverpool BID Company Bill Addy and Dr Mike Jones who was co-author of the report and is from the University of Liverpool’s Institute of Popular Music.

CHESHIRE-based short-term instalment loan provider Different Money has appointed Lee Gray as head of risk.

Gray has more than a decade’s experience in working within the financial and retail sectors, predominantly within a credit risk role and joins from the Shop Direct Group, the UK’s biggest shop at home group encompassing brands such as Littlewoods and Very.co.uk.
 
In his new role, Gray will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of credit risk strategies to enable the business to grow. He will manage the firm’s relationships with its credit bureaux and play a lead role in its innovative use of data.

Louise Sanders, managing director at Different Money, said: “Lee has the necessary background and experience to help us move our business away from the stigma attached with the short-term loan market and into the more mainstream near-prime lending market. His extensive scorecard modelling experience will enable us to improve our credit decisions and, most importantly, our customer outcomes.

“He has already added value to the business, making suggestions as to how we can improve our data usage and drive efficiencies within credit risk.”

OLDHAM-based aerosol and consumer chemicals manufacturer James Briggs has recruited Nick Joujou as sales and marketing director.

Joujou brings vast international experience to the business, most recently at specialist automotive chemicals manufacturer U-POL where he oversaw operations in the Middle East, Australasia, Africa and India.
 
He joins with a strong track record of success across multiple industries, counting senior managerial roles at Canadian energy company Suncor, global technology business Danaher and international minerals supplier Amcol International, in his extensive career to date. Nick is also trilingual, speaking fluent English, French and Arabic.
 
The appointment comes at a time of great success for James Briggs, which has announced a string of new distribution deals in recent months.

NEIL Tilsley is the new chief executive of Haydock, Merseyside-based fire resistant glazing manufacturer Pyroguard.

His appointment follows a £1m investment into the company’s manufacturing facilities in the UK and France.

Tilsley brings a wealth of experience in the manufacturing and construction engineering sectors and has previously held commercial and general management roles with organisations including Abloy UK, NG Bailey and most recently Polypipe Ventilation, where he oversaw a period of significant growth including three strategic acquisitions.

Tilsley said: “Pyroguard is a leading brand in the fire rated glazing sector, with a team with a wealth of technical knowledge and a first rate customer service.

“I look forward to leading the company through a period of further investment for growth, building upon our market-leading product portfolio and excellent customer relationships to increase our share of the global fire resistant glass market.”

PLANNING and regeneration consultancy Nexus Planning has appointed Rosanna Cohen as a planner in its Manchester office.

Cohen joins Nexus from NHS Property Services, prior to which she was part of the planning team at White Peak Planning in Didsbury, Manchester.

She has a strong range of experience, with initial Nexus projects including working with the team on the practice’s recent commission from ATLAS to assist in the delivery of large scale planning applications and Housing Zone projects as well as the submission of planning applications in Rochdale, Oldham and Ellesmere Port for Countryside Properties.

Rosanna’s appointment marks the latest step in the sustained growth of the business both in Manchester and its offices in London and Weybridge.
