Bank backs Quays development with £7.3m

LIVEMAN Properties has embarked on a multi-million development in Salford Quays with £7.3m of funding support from NatWest.

The Dock Office is an iconic art deco Grade II listed building which was constructed in 1927 by Harry Fairhurst and Son and is considered a landmark building located on Trafford Road (A5063) at the entrance to Salford Quays.

The building has stood largely vacant for a number of years.

The project will see the Salford Dock Office converted into 67 luxury apartment units to include a two storey roof extension, restoring its pride of place in the wider Salford Quays regeneration area.

Buildings works began in late 2015 and the refurbishment is likely to be completed in September 2016.

Michael Marsden, director of Liveman Properties, said: “The Salford Dock Office is an exciting development that brings a wonderful historic building back into modern use. With the development we have seen at Media City in recent years there is a great need for housing for professionals who want to live near their workplace.

“The team at NatWest have been fantastic to work with, offering guidance and support along the way.”

NatWest relationship director Peter Howarth, from the bank’s Real Estate Finance team, supported the deal.

He said: “We were delighted to support the Salford Office Dock development. It is an exciting project that will enhance the local area breathing new life into a landmark asset and we look forward to supporting Guy and his  management team at Liveman Properties in the future.”
