A TRAMPOLINE park set to become the largest of its kind in the North will become a draw for adults as well as children in the area, its owner has revealed.
Ascent is due to open on March 14 at Prestige House, on Cornford Road in Blackpool. The 40,000sq ft site will be home to a facility with more than 100 individual trampolines, plus other activities including a Ninja assault course, foam pit, giant air bag, flip zone and toddler area.
The park, the first trampoline park in Blackpool & The Fylde, has been in the planning stages since June.
Owners Allan and Sarah Bowness have leased the site from Blackpool-based commercial property developers Henco International.
Commercial property legal advice was provided by David Hill, a partner at Napthens solicitors.
Once open, the trampoline park will include its own Ascent Academy to teach skills and run displays, parties, dodgeball matches and fitness classes.
Hill said: “Blackpool is an ideal location for a facility of this kind. I’m sure the town’s large population and transport links will make the trampoline park a key part of the area’s leisure scene quickly.”
Allan Bowness, who has a background in corporate sales and previously owned a children’s soft play area in Merseyside, added: “The trampoline park will be a great place for children and youngsters to have a good time, but also much more than that.
“We will be running fitness and gym classes. Studies have shown that 20 minutes on a trampoline can have the same benefits as an hour spent running and we are keen to help both children and adults get fitter.
“The location was perfect for us – near the motorway, and at the gateway to Blackpool – with perfect facilities for a trampoline park including a nice size and height.
“We are certain we can be a great addition to the resort’s leisure sector, attracting users from further afield as well.”
