10-year partnership to support clinical care, research and innovation

A 10-year strategic partnership between Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and property company Bruntwood has been unveiled.

The innovative new property partnership, thought to be the first of its kind in the UK, will support the delivery of clinical care, research and innovation, as well as the future development of CMFT’s estate.

It was announced at the world’s biggest property event MIPIM, taking place this week in Cannes.

Bruntwood will provide a range of services including planning and construction advice and design services.

The partnership will bring together the expertise and capability of both partners to use space and facilities more efficiently and ensure that buildings are designed in a flexible and agile way, both now and in the future.
 
Bruntwood will help CMFT shape and develop its estate by providing property development expertise and flexible design solutions tailored to clinical need.

The new partnership will support Manchester’s bid to become an international centre of biomedical sciences, where science is translated into new diagnostics, treatments and health services of the future, and play a key role in the positioning of Corridor Manchester as a European Top 5 Innovation District.

The partnership supports the development of the Greater Manchester Devolution agenda which sees the region taking control of its £6bn health and social care budget from next month and shaping and delivering its vision for a healthier conurbation.
