Building supplies firm on course for record £7m revenue

A CONSTRUCTION supplies company is set to record a £7m turnover this year, nine years after being set up on a kitchen table in a Rochdale home.

SourceBuild was founded at home by Rob Elliott and his partner Sarah Cork in 2008, specializing in products to trade customers online and by phone.

Elliott soon realised the company was rapidly outgrowing its modest surroundings and took the plunge by moveing the business to an office at Globe House in 2011, appointing new members of staff in the process.

Globe House is a purpose built hub for businesses on Moss Bridge Road, run by Rochdale Borough Council.

Group operations manager Liam Grady said the move was a big help.

“The company had outgrown Rob’s home, so it was definitely time for a move,” he said. “The managed workspace here at Globe House was perfect and instantly gave the business a more professional look, providing us with the professional services that a growing business needs.”

Further expansion followed, with the company creating another five different divisions – Bespokebuild supplying specialised products online, EnviroSystems for flood defence solutions, Globepark Solutions for exhibition and shop fit outs and Globepark Utilities, supplying commercial premises with utilitiy services.

The very latest addition to the group is a car body shop – Rochdale Vehicle Repairs.
By 2014 they employed 7 staff, but the last two years have seen that double to 14 and after another bumper year they’re recruiting again. The company has expanded within Globe House, now occupying over 1,200 square feet on the ground floor.
