Tangerines appoint eighth manager in four years

RELAGATED football club Blackpool have appointed former Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer as their new manager – their eighth boss since 2012.

He takes the job vacated by Neil McDonald who parted company with the Bloomfield Road club from their relegation from League One. He has signed a one-year rolling contract with the Tangerines.

The 44-year-old was in charge at Rovers from March 2013 until his dismissal in November last year. He had two earlier spells as caretaker.
