RAF Falcons to drop into Liverpool festival

THE RAF Falcons parachute display team will drop in to the new-look Walton Festival in Liverpool next weekend.

The event, which takes place at Walton Hall Park from 11am to 7pm on 16th and 17th of July, will welcome the daredevil team on Saturday afternoon as they make their descent into the park.

Walton Festival will also include a military zone featuring vehicles, equipment displays and interactive exhibits which have been organised by the British Army and Army Cadets.

There will also be a farmer’s market at the festival, where locals will be able to purchase items from craft traders and small businesses who are based in Walton. Children can also get involved in the pet’s corner, where there will be falconry displays and donkey rides.

Walton Festival, which is being organised with support from Liverpool City Council, Walton Community Interest Company, County Road Regeneration and local housing associations, will have a historic theme. There will be a Victorian themed funfair for the whole family to enjoy, with a Ferris wheel, waltzers, carousels and other old time attractions. The heritage theme will continue into the bar and food section.

Visitors will be able to challenge their family and friends in the ‘It’s a Knockout’ challenge as well as finding their way through a maze. There will also be free attractions from children including bungee trampolines and zorb balls.

Entertainment from the very best in local talent, featuring bands, choirs and youth music groups, will also take place across the weekend.

Councillor Roy Gladden, Chair of the Walton Festival organising committee, said: “We have worked hard to put together a mix of fun, sport and entertainment showcasing the best that Walton has to offer.
“We hope people will join us for what is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend for all the family with something for everyone to enjoy.”

A fun run 5k will also take place on Sunday, as will the Walton Community Champions Awards that will celebrate outstanding individuals from the area.
