Lakes guest house sold for £585,000

GUEST house Haisthorpe House in the heart of Windermere in the Lake District has been sold from an asking price of £585,000.

Situated on Holly Road in the centre of the town popular with visitors to the Lakes, the property with six letting bedrooms and three-bedroom owners’ accommodation was acquired by Tim and Cathy Tritton, who are relocating from Kidderminster with owner Diana Wilkinson retiring from the hospitality sector.

Haydn Spedding, associate director with the specialist hotels and licensed property team at the Manchester office of real estate adviser Colliers International, secured the sale on behalf of the owner, said: “The disposal of Haisthorpe House is one of a significant number of guest house sales in the Lake District achieved by Colliers International in 2016.

“We believe that the outcome of the EU Referendum is unlikely to affect the tourism industry in the Lake District and Cumbria.

“The industry has always enjoyed a robust presence having successfully steered its way through foot and mouth disease, flooding and the closure of the A591 and fuel crises. We are therefore confident that buyer interest in such high quality guest houses with solid accounts will continue to grow.”
