London minicab operator expanding into Greater Manchester

EUROPE-wide minicab operator Addison Lee is launching its first car service outside of London, with its Greater Manchester operation.

David Cederholm, Addison Lee’s North West general manager, said: “It’s a great opportunity to increase choice for both business and consumer passengers, who will be able to book quality and reliable cars wherever they want to go in the area, quickly and easily.

“Our liveried vehicles have become an iconic sight on London’s streets, we hope they will become a familiar sight in Greater Manchester.”

Addison Lee says the new service will appeal to all businesses across all sectors, as the Addison Lee team can work with them to control travel costs and give them access to car services across the UK.

Cederholm added: “For business customers there is the added reassurance that we already work with 23,000 business customers, have dedicated relationship managers and our software integrates with expense management systems.”

Addison Lee will base its North West operation in Cheadle. This will include sales, account management, fleet, driver recruitment and driver training locally.
The company is also planning to roll out its app to 25 cities by the end of the year. This combined with the new Greater Manchester service is the largest expansion of its operations in the company’s 40-year history.
