Law firm’s office gets big makeover

A FULL refurbishment of law firm Brabners’ offices at 55 King Street in central Manchester has been completed.

The project, to create a new staff lounge, client seminar suite and revamped reception was delivered on time and under budget, said Knight Frank, Manchester, which oversaw the project.

Brabners’ office manager Alan Lloyd, said: “The process was made very straightforward and we are extremely pleased with the end result.”

The firm occupies the top two floors of the building and wanted an informal area where staff could relax and meet colleagues, a break-out / meeting area for clients and a more spacious, bespoke reception.

Brabners’ investment in improved office profile and staff amenities followed Knight Frank’s successful negotiation of a break-clause to achieve a rent reduction on their space in the building in the city’s central business district.

Lloyd said: “The result meant that instead of relocating we could reinvest some of the rental savings back into the building and enhance the office space we have. We wanted an area where staff could go and get away from their computers and the phones to relax or work separately from the main office and a more informal area for clients.

“There are a glut of new buildings but in our position it was more cost effective to stay in a central location, which staff appreciate, rather than relocating.

“Knight Frank were very, very good both in negotiating the lease and in their dealings with contractors. The project was delivered on time and under budget.”
