Budget airline launches raft of new routes for 2017
LOW-cost airline Ryanair has launched its biggest ever Manchester summer schedule for 2017 with five new routes.
New services to Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg, Oslo Torp and Wroclaw will take the total routes count to 44.
There will be extra flights to Alicante, Chania, Faro, Krakow, Lanzarote, Murcia, Palma, Rome, Tenerife and Zadar.
It is projected all the flights will deliver 4.5 million customers a year and support 3,400 jobs at Manchester Airport with Ryanair set to grow its Manchester traffic by 13% in 2017.
Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said: “Customers can look forward to even lower fares when they make advance bookings for summer 2017.
“As our recent guidance confirmed, Ryanair expects average fares to fall by between 10% to 12% in the 6 months to March 2017.
“There’s never been a better time to book a low fare flight on Ryanair and we urge all customers who wish to book their summer 2017 holidays to do so now on the Ryanair.com website, where they can avail of the lowest fare air travel to and from Manchester.
Ken O’Toole, chief executive of Manchester Airport said: “It is pleasing to see Ryanair expanding its summer schedule from Manchester Airport.
“These routes are proving popular with both business and leisure passengers within our catchment area, which stretches from the east to the west coasts of the UK and as far North as the Scottish borders.
“Coupled with increased frequencies on routes to a range of sunshine destinations, this commitment is yet another vote of confidence in Manchester and the wider North.”
