Fashion show in aid of eating disorder charity

A CHARITY fashion show hosted by Blackpool-based charity Support and Education for Eating Disorders (SEED) will take place at Evoque nightclub in Preston.

The annual event will start at 7pm on Friday October 7 and will coincide with World Mental Health Day.

The aim of the show will be to promote positive body image and self-esteem whilst fundraising for the charity which provides a support network for sufferers of eating, food and weight related issues, and their families.

Models of all sizes, shapes and skin colour will take to the catwalk wearing clothes from local boutiques and designers.

At the venue, there will also be live music and fire-breathers.

Director of SEED, Shelley Perry said: “This is an opportunity for people to enjoy a spectacular fashion show while supporting a charity raising awareness of eating disorders at the same time.

“We want to ultimately offer support for individuals and their carers.

“It’s a fashion show with a difference for a real cause and ending with free entry to the nightclub for those who want it.

“This is the eighth year we have staged the show and it promises to be better than ever.”

The charity is reliant largely on donations and runs a variety of free services, including weekly drop-in sessions, free art recovery programs and counselling sessions.

They support sufferers over 18 years old.
