MANCHESTER-based LOVE is marking its 15th anniversary with a host of new clients, new hires and new office space.

Founded in 2001, LOVE is expecting 2016 to be another year of impressive growth revenue up 25 per cent for the second successive year.  

Over the last 12 months, the agency has won new business from Häagen-Dazs and Proctor & Gamble.

They join an impressive client roster that includes Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Moët & Chandon, Umbro and N Brown’s Simply Be and Jacamo fashion brands.
 
To continue offering clients the best in both creativity and strategy, LOVE has hired Neil Bennett to the new role of strategy director.
 
He joins from London’s AnalogFolk where he worked on Pernod Ricards’ Absolut vodka and Malibu rum brands.

Previous to that he worked at Mother.  His appointment takes LOVE to 60 staff, doubling the size of the company from where it was three years ago.

In order to accommodate the growth, LOVE will be taking a second floor in their building on Dale Street, taking their total space to over 12,000 square feet.  Work is underway on creating the new studio, event and office space and is expected to be completed early 2017.

MANCHESTER-based industry law firm Horwich Farrelly has appointed Mark Dickson as a new defendant partner.

Joining from Keoghs, Dickson brings more than 20 years’ experience in the personal injury claims arena, acting on behalf of a range of insurers, multinational companies and local authorities.

As well as specific expertise in the aviation sector, having been retained as the lawyer of choice for the world’s largest ground handling company, Dickson has a strong track record successfully defending claims for manual handling and repetitive strain injuries as well as defending product liability claims for corporate clients and their insurers.

He also has extensive experience in defending high value employers’ liability and public liability claims.

Past claims successfully defended include PTSD claims brought against large retailers following armed robberies as well as claims arising from head and brain injury, spinal cord damage, amputation, fatal accidents and multiple injuries.

“Mark brings considerable proven expertise, complementing the knowledge and expertise already offered to our clients”, explained Rob Barrett, managing partner for Horwich Farrelly.

ABBEY Logistics Group, one of the UK’s largest bulk liquid and powder logistics providers, has appointed David Thomas as its chief financial officer.

Thomas joins Bootle, Merseyside-based Abbey from XPO logistics the global supply chain services company where he was most recently Finance Director of their UK supply chain businesses.

A chartered management accountant, Thomas has extensive finance, risk and operations experience within the logistics sector and has held a number of senior roles with national and international logistics companies.

Thomas will sit on the Abbey Group Board and will oversee the finance, corporate development, risk and commercial legal functions.

He will be tasked with helping Abbey achieve its 2020 vision of becoming the UK’s leading bulk liquid and powder transport company, offering best in class service and excellent value.

Specifically, this will include leading a drive towards increased efficiency and further growth in new and existing markets.

WEST Lancshire commercial vehicle provider Dawsonrentals | vans, has strengthened its team with the appointment of Lee Saunders, area sales manager for the Skelmersdale branch.

Saunders joins the company with more than 20 years’ experience in commercial vehicle sales, service and rental.

During his career, he has worked across the UK, Ireland and North America, meaning he brings a wealth of international knowledge to the role. He is now tasked with expanding Dawsonrentals | vans’ operations in the North West.

Managing director Gareth Jones said: “Lee joins the company at an exciting time. The Skelmersdale branch has driven a great level of success across the North West, and is now the second largest branch in the country.”

PROPERTY and construction consultancy Rider Levett Bucknall has doubled the size of its North West team over the last 18 months.

The latest two appointments, Scott Young, senior quantity surveyor, and Thomas Cox. a placement student from the University of Salford, bring the total number of employees in the Manchester office to 50.
