Bed giant tucked in at retail park after £6.5m revamp

BENSONS for Beds, one of Britain’s largest specialist bed retailers, has signed on to a 10-year lease on an 8,939sq ft unit (Unit 6) at The Derwent Group’s White City Retail Park near Stretford, Manchester.
The retail park, which has undergone a £6.5m transformation, has attracted a number of retailers with recent openings including Home Bargains, The Iceland Food Warehouse, M&S Foodhall, Oak Furniture Land, and a combined store encompassing Currys, PC World and Carphone Warehouse.
White City Retail Park is already home to the likes of Dreams, Furniture Village, Halfords, and Sofology, and continues to attract significant interest from tenants, with furniture retailer Multiyork due to open in November.
James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager at The Derwent Group said: “Bensons for Beds is a strong addition to the high quality retail offering at White City Retail Park, joining other specialist homewares retailers such as Dreams, Furniture Village, Sofology, and Multiyork, which is due to open this month.
“We are really pleased with the strong interest we continue to receive from tenants, and it is great to see White City thriving and undergoing such exciting changes.”
Joint agents for White City Retail Park are Cheetham & Mortimer and CSP (Curson Sowerby).
