City centre bus link to Liverpool airport

A REGULAR coach service from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester city centre has been launched.
Aintree based operator Northwest Coachlines now provides a service that operates up to 13 return journeys each day from Manchester Shudehill Interchange and Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
The coach schedule is aimed to link with as many departing and arriving flights as possible at LJLA throughout the day, with the first departure from Manchester at 4am and the last departure from the airport at 11.50pm.
The daily service has one way fares from £8 for adults and £7.50 for children aged 5-15, with under 5s able to travel for free.
Each year hundreds of thousands of passengers who choose to use Liverpool John Lennon Airport, travel either from or too Manchester city centre and this figure is set to increase further following the Airport’s recent route expansion.
Steve Elms of North West Coachlines said: “We are delighted to have been able to reinstate the express bus service to Manchester city centre in partnership with the airport and look forward to welcoming customers on to our fast, reliable, value for money service on this important route which provides many opportunities for onward travel to the North West region and beyond.”
Danny Williams, commercial manager for Liverpool John Lennon Airport added: “The airport serves the whole of the North West and we are continually looking to improve public transport links across the region.
“This new direct service linking LJLA with Manchester city centre couldn’t be more convenient with the coach picking up and dropping off passengers at the front of the terminal building and will be welcomed by thousands of passengers who wish to use public transport.”
