NYE 2016: Where to celebrate in Manchester and Liverpool

WE know what you’re thinking. This year has flown by, right? 2016 is a year we all won’t be forgetting anytime soon, but put your troubles aside for the evening and celebrate the crazy year you have had. Head to one of these events in Manchester and Liverpool for a truly wonderful evening.

Aintree Racecourse – Alpine Ball
The home of the Grand National will be host to a glamorous Alpine Ball this New Year. You will receive a glass of Champagne on arrival which will be followed by a five-course meal and a live show. There will also be party games, competitions a charity casino as well as a DJ and disco, silent auctions and even dodgems. Stick around after the clock strikes 12 and you’ll be treated to a bacon butties too. Booking is essential.

LEAF Manchester – Prince VS. Bowie
LEAF in Manchester are celebrating the lives of David Bowie and Prince who we sadly said goodbye to this year. The venue is inviting you to party like it’s 1999 and be heroes just for one night at their party which will include glitter, a whole night of dancing until the early hours and cocktails, of course. Costumes are also encouraged and reserving a space is essential.

district houseDistrict House – Carnivale
Liverpool’s District House are throwing their very own ‘Carnivale’ to bring in 2017. There is set to be live dance music, carnivale hosts, stilt walkers and samba dancer’s working their magic in a themed, tropical paradise. There will also be live vocals, SAX and bongos, Carnivale samba dancers and golden confetti celebrations bang on midnight. Booking is essential.

Joshua Brooks – NYE House Party
Joshua Brooks in Manchester are putting on the ultimate house party this new year. The venue are combining two of their most popular nights Pop Bubble Rock and Crash The Wedding to make it a night you won’t be forgetting anytime soon. There will be pop-punk and hip-hop in the basement and Motown, power ballads and dad-dancing taking place on the top floor. There will also be free pizza and bubbly as well as giveaways and more fun to get involved in. Booking is essential.

Bring in the New Year with a laugh this year at Liverpool’s Hot Water Comedy Club at The Holiday Inn. The show will feature some of the best comedians from the UK and beyond, including Paul Sinha from ITV’s The Chase. Once the comedy has ended, there will be live entertainment and of course, the big NYE countdown. There is also the option to include a three-course-meal in your meal too. Booking is essential.

The Fitzgerald – Great Gatsby Party
Bring in the New Year Gatsby style at secret bar The Fitzgerald. You will receive a glass of prosecco on arrival before heading into the party which promises to have all the glitz and glamour of the 1920s. There will be DJs, a silent cinema and a range of 1920’s props to admire. Dress code is 1920s glam.

Band on the Wall – NYE Funk & Soul Party
Get your dancing shoes on and head to Manchester’s Band on the Wall’s funk and soul party. Alongside a list of resident and special guest DJs, the venue is also welcoming a firm Band on the Wall favourite, the Haggis Horns, for a stomping full live show. The Haggis Horns are a 7-piece live funk extravaganza who have worked with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Elbow and Take That. Booking is recommended.

Liverpool’s Camp and Furnace is throwing a prom themed snow ball for New Year’s Eve. There will be ice sculptures, Ice slush cocktail and plenty of snow as well as classic 80’s anthems, prizes for the prom queen and king, spin the bottle behind the lockers room, a finger buffet and punch as well as more surprises! Fancy dress (shoulder pads, dodgy ball gowns and big hair) is also encouraged. Booking is essential.

Liverpool Philharmonic Hall – Songs on Film
Bring in the New Year with a real bang as pianist, singer, songwriter and all-round performer Joe Stilgoe pays tribute to the music that brought Hollywood to life with all-time classics from and inspired by the greatest films over the last century. He will be performing songs including Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head, Moon River, Goodnight Sweetheart and many more.
