Aerospace body pulls in £2m for research

RESEARCH into aerospace composites in the region has received £2m following lobbying by the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA).
The funding for two separate projects will come from the Technology Strategy Board, a Government body responsble for stimulating innovation.
The first project, Intertex, is seeking to cut the cost of composite manufacturing. The funding bid was put forward by NWAA and a group of member companies including Manchester-based Hyde Group and Burnley’s Aircelle. It has received £850,000 which will be matched by the companies involved.
