CLB Coopers set fair on Ship Canal House

NORTH West accountancy firm CLB Coopers is moving its Manchester operation to King Street.
The firm, which also has offices Lancaster and Bolton has taken 6,655 sq ft at Ship Canal House, on a 10-year lease, and will occupy the entire fifth floor at the landmark building.
David Travis, managing partner of CLB Coopers, which is currently based at Century House, St Peters Square, said: “We wanted to maintain our presence within the prime core and it was important that we found a quality building in a prestigious location.
“Ship Canal House is a stunning building and will provide an excellent working environment for our staff. We have selected a building that will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of the business”.
CLB Coopers has 12 partners and 110 staff across its three offices.The move, which will take place before Christmas, will facilitate better working practices as staff will all be on one floor. The firm employs 45 people in Manchester and this figure is expected to grow to 60 in the next few years.

The historic Ship Canal House, is undergoing a renaissance and recently became the home of national law firm HBJ Gateley Wareing’s Manchester office.
Will Lewis of OBI Property and Terry McMahon of LLM Solicitors advised CLB Coopers on the lease.
Will Kennon of agent CB Richard Ellis added: “This latest letting at Ship Canal House represents a buoyant 12 months for the letting team, during which we have successfully let in excess of 40,000 sq ft.
“The success is testament to the quality of Grade A refurbishment that has been delivered by Catalyst Capital, and there are now only two floors remaining at the landmark building on King Street.”
