Inventors fight recession

ORGANISERS of the North West Inventors’ Expo are calling on the region’s businesses to embrace innovation as a means to overcome tough economic conditions.

Ideas North West insists that a renewed regional focus on entrepreneurial creativity will help speed an end to the recession.

Chairman Basil Philipsz said: “We are all working under extreme economic conditions – there’s no doubt about that. But the tougher it gets, the smarter we must work. And that means innovation.

“The success of the North West has always been built on innovation. We gave the world the Industrial Revolution. It’s that spirit that we must recapture as we look forward to a prosperous future.”

The event, now in its fourth year, will see local inventors showcasing their ideas as well as offering free patent search clinics and help from grant advisers, lawyers and representatives from the Patent Office.

It will be held at Turf Moor Enterprise Haven in Burnley on Saturday March 21. Visit: www.ideasnorthwest.co.uk.
