Green energy firm agrees deal with smart technology firm

Renewable energy firm Good Energy has announcef that myenergi, the smart home energy technology manufacturer, has switched the energy supply of its business operations .
Myenergi has switched the energy supplier for its headquarters and manufacturing facilities to the Wiltshire based firm.
The move means that myenergi’s electricity usage will be backed by 100% renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs) from Good Energy’s more than 2,500 generators across 90% of the time – enabling the technology manufacturer to use the insights provided to flex their energy usage and reduce their carbon footprint.
Myenergi helps customers in their homes to flex their energy use – such as through its smart EV charger the ‘Zappi’, which allows EV drivers to charge at times when the grid is lower carbon.
Good Energy’s hourly matching will help myenergi to follow the same principles for the energy it uses in its manufacturing and operations. The new agreement is an extension of an existing relationship between the two companies, as Good Energy is an installer of Zappi EV chargers and ‘eddi’ hot water controllers, alongside its solar, storage, and heat pump installation services.
Tom Parsons, director of sales and origination at Good Energy, said: “As an innovative business which is helping customers cut their carbon by shifting how and when they use energy in their homes, myenergi naturally understood the importance of energy data and flexing demand.
“Good Energy supplying myenergi’s headquarters and manufacturing operations with hourly-matched renewables creates the kind of carbon-reducing circular approach we need to see everywhere across all industries.
“As two pioneers in the clean energy space, it is brilliant to be building on our existing relationship and leading the way towards net zero together.”
Carl Allen, CEO of myenergi, added : “As one of the originators of the clean energy industry in the UK with a commitment to truly renewable power, Good Energy is a perfect partner for our energy supply. Being able to see the data on how our electricity usage is matched with the output from their portfolio of renewable generators in real time means we can practice what we preach to our customers and su
