Fuels business achieves prestigious Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme membership
One of the South West’s leading providers of renewable diesel has achieved a major milestone on its journey to net zero by securing membership of the prestigious Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme (RFAS).
Okehampton-based Moorland Fuels’ commitment to a low carbon future for transport and sustainability played a key part in securing a place on the scheme, run by the Zemo Partnership.
The endorsement verifies Moorland Fuels’ renewable fuel supply chain and gives customers access to independently verified Greenhouse Gas (GHG) data.
This data allows customers to use accurate and representative information in their company carbon reporting, giving them a critical edge when tendering for contracts.
RFAS membership also aligns Moorland Fuels closely with the wider objectives of the Zemo Partnership; a leading force in the development of innovative and collaborative solutions designed to achieve a low-carbon future within the transport sector.
Matthew Crockett, managing director of Moorland Fuels, said there was a clear and urgent need to address climate change and joining the Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme was a natural step on the firm’s pathway to becoming a net zero company, providing cleaner, greener fuel solutions for its customers across Devon and Cornwall.
“Through our RFAS membership, customers can be assured that our renewable diesel (HVO) supply chain undergoes the most rigorous of checks,” he added.
“Examining everything from feedstock cultivation, collection and production through to distribution, it is a process that provides vital reassurance to commercial operations.”
He said membership reflected the firm’s ongoing commitment to reducing carbon emissions and to support both businesses and individuals in their transition to more sustainable energy sources.
