Twelve West Country restaurants awarded Michelin Stars

Twelve restaurants in the South West have made it onto this year’s prestigious Michelin Guide.

There were no new entries in the region and all those on the list were awarded one star.

This year’s list was announced at a ceremony held in Manchester’s Midland Hotel.

A Michelin Star is a sign of quality and restaurants can be awarded zero to three stars based on five areas: quality of ingredients, mastery of flavour and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef in the cuisine, value for money and the consistency of the food.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The Michelin Guide, commented: “It is a joy to see 20 restaurants newly awarded the Bib Gourmand in the 2024 edition of The MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland.

“These are establishments that deserve recognition for their continued commitment to offering affordable, delicious cooking.

“The generosity and value for money they offer is wonderful to see during these challenging economic times for the restaurant industry.”
