Prominent roadside pub near Bristol Airport that boasts strong food offering up for sale

A landmark pub close to Bristol Airport dating back to 1834 has come onto the market with the agents marketing it describing it as a great opportunity to establish a strong business.

The Winford Arms is on a prominent roadside position on the A38 less than five miles from Bristol city centre and four miles from the airport.

Originally constructed as a gear store for a nearby coal mining enterprise, the building was converted to a pub in 1856 and currently operates as La Campagna at The Winford Arms, with an Italian brasserie-style menu.

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co said it has a large trading area on the ground floor serving 105 covers, a private dining/function room and a sizeable, well-equipped kitchen.

It also has a large beer garden with sweeping countryside views, a private car park and a one-bedroom owners’ apartment on the first floor.

Christie & Co business agent Graeme Clifford, who is managing the sale, said the destination pub had a long history of attracting high levels of trade all year round, built on a strong food offering, extensive outside space with countryside views and “an ideal location between the edge of Bristol and the airport”.

“This landmark pub is easily visible from the busy A38 and has long been associated with good food and being a great venue for family events or days out,” he added.

“The facilities at the pub offer any new owner a great opportunity to establish a strong business, especially by promoting the fantastic beer garden as summer approaches.”

The Winford Arms is on the market leasehold with an asking price of £50,000.
