Holiday let management firm has new owner

A firm which specialises in cleaning and managing holiday lets has been sold to a new owner.

Home & Away South West, based in Cornwall, offers holiday let cleaning and was established in 2006.

In recent years the business has been owned and run by husband and wife, Lee and Claire Ames.

The couple expanded the business to offer additional services such as caretaking, key holding, welcome packs plus arranging tradespeople to take care of any property maintenance.

Lee and Claire bought the business through specialist business transfer agency Beardsley Theobalds and when they decided that they wished to return to their previous professions, they instructed Beardsley Theobalds to act for them in finding a buyer.

The business gained interest from owners of operators in the commercial cleaning sector as well as people with general business skills who were attracted by the style of the business which had a good foundation but still with the opportunity to expand.

The new owner is Lisa Carter who has been running businesses successfully in the South East.

Acquiring Home & Away has given her the opportunity to move to Cornwall and take on a new challenge.

With a team of 20 operatives and a handover from the sellers, Lisa will be well set up to offer services across Cornwall as the holiday season gets underway.
