Green light for university’s 330-bed scheme
Work is expected to get underway later this year on a a 330-bed student accommodation project in Bristol.
The University of the West of England, Bristol was given the green light from planners for the landmark building near its Frenchay campus, which will rise from five storeys to nine storeys in a spiralling pattern and arranged around a central courtyard.
Canada Life Asset Management is working in partnership with the university to develop the building on the former B&Q garden centre site at Filton Retail Park in Stoke Gifford.
Bowmer + Kirkland is expected to start construction this autumn.
The development is led by JLL, Canada Life Asset Management’s development and project manager.
Architect Stride Treglown designed the scheme.
