Former Clarks CEO returns following wave of senior staff departures
Victor Herrero, former CEO of Clarks, has joined the committee at Clarks led by chair Colin Li, to manage daily operations while the company searches for a new CEO.
Herrero served as Clarks’ CEO from February 2021 until his departure nine months later, when Jon Ram took over.
It comes amid a wave of senior management departures at the Somerset-based firm.
The frequent turnover of senior staff members has raised concerns among employees about the strategic direction and leadership of Clarks, according to Retail Week.
Chief marketing officer Tara McRae, senior vice president of Commercial Willem van Rensburg and head of retail for the UK, Ireland, and EMEA Nick Hayward are the latest executives to leave.
McRae is transitioning to Puma as senior vice president of marketing and brand strategy in North America.
Other recent departures include Janine Carew, head of merchandising and planning for the UK and Ireland, Rosie McKissock, global kids and accessories category director and Julian Hargood, global head of corporate affairs and sustainability.
