Exeter City Football Club has welcomed Joe Gorman as the club’s new chief executive.

Gorman, who joined the club as chief financial officer last October, brings a variety of experience in multiple industries and a strong aptitude for financial control, forecasting and financial planning, as well as having a wide range of commercial and operational experience.

As chief executive, he will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the club. This includes overseeing all business functions such as finance, marketing, and HR and ensuring the club operates efficiently and sustainably.

Nick Hawker, chair of Exeter City Supporters’ Trust said: “We are delighted that Joe has accepted the position of Chief Executive. Since joining the club last year, he has shown real drive and determination to ensure the club succeeds and continues its path of strategic and sustainable growth as we move through the next phase of our progression.”

Gorman takes on the position from Jeremy Tipper, who was appointed interim chief executive last year.

Hawker added: “My thanks to Jeremy for his dynamic leadership over this period. He has been fundamental in our development off the pitch in this time, instigating and delivering many changes and improvements across the club, including the recruitment of the new executive team. Indeed, Joe’s appointment is a significant outcome of Jeremy’s strategic succession planning.

“In addition to this he has brought in several new roles at the Cliff Hill Training Ground with a focus on improving the performance on the pitch.”
