Accountancy firm hires co-founder of multimillion-pound company Southwestern Distillery

Audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory firm Bishop Fleming has welcomed Athene Lippiett as its new senior accountancy manager as the firm continues to grow its offices in Exeter and the South West.
Lippiett is the co-founder of multimillion-pound company Southwestern Distillery near Padstow, Cornwall and will bring expertise and first-hand experience in business development and strategic planning to help clients streamline operations and drive growth.
Following another year of double-digit growth and revenue of over £43.1m, the firm is focusing on an ambitious and sustainable growth target across the Midlands and South West.
Lippiett said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Bishop Fleming at such an exciting time. My experience in scaling a family business into a multi-million-pound company has given me a deep understanding of the complexities of sustainable growth and strategic planning for owner-managed businesses as well as the financial challenges that these businesses face through various stages in their lifecycle.
“I’m eager to bring that insight to the team and help drive the next phase of growth, streamlining systems and supporting clients in navigating their own journeys. I can’t wait to get started.”
James Finnegan, partner and Exeter office lead, said: “Athene brings a wealth of practical, hands-on experience in building and scaling a successful owner-managed business, which will be invaluable to our clients. Her deep understanding of the pressures faced by business owners, whether it’s cash flow management, strategic growth, or navigating complex financial challenges, makes her a perfect fit for our team.
“As Bishop Fleming grows, Athene’s ability to relate to and support our owner-managed businesses in driving sustainable growth will be key. We are confident her expertise will further strengthen our offering and help our clients tackle the unique challenges of today’s business environment with confidence and agility. We are excited to welcome her aboard.”
