New tenant signals change of direction at Swindon retail centre

Brunel Shopping Centre

A property firm has unveiled a new tenant at a shopping centre in Swindon.

FI Real Estate Management has announced that High Score Arcade has taken space at Brunel Plaza.

The new lease has seen High Score Arcade launch its new 5,000 sq ft arcade at Brunel Plaza next to the Crossing Food Hub.

As one of the first free-play arcade branches to launch in the UK, High Score Arcade at The Brunel revolutionises the family entertainment experience by giving people unlimited access to games for a one-off entry fee.

The move follows the launch of High Score Arcade by Corporate Amusement Services during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a new business model to make use of its corporate hire arcade games.

The arrival of the new tenant is part of a wider strategy to redevelop The Brunel.

Tim Knowles, managing director of FI Real Estate Management, said: “There is so much potential at The Brunel and we have a vision to retain the successful elements of the centre and build on this to create a high-end evening leisure destination.

“We are committed to creating an entirely new offer in the town centre, and by attracting the very best leisure, entertainment and food and beverage providers we will transform the centre into a vibrant space where the whole family can enjoy an evening out.”

Nicki Gamblin, group manager at High Score Arcades, added: “We are delighted to be opening our newest addition to High Score Arcades in the Brunel. We are keen to bring an exciting new element of family entertainment to the shopping centre.

“We pride ourselves on providing a fun, inclusive, safe environment for all ages – we really do have something for everyone at our venues. Increased footfall to the centre will also have a positive impact on local businesses.”
