Coach holiday provider drives forward staff health and wellbeing strategy

Daish’s Holidays, the coach holiday provider, has partnered with global health technology provider TELUS Health to provide all employees with free health and wellbeing support.

To coincide with Stress Awareness Month, the scheme is available from this month to more than 500 employees across its portfolio of 12 UK hotels and head offices in Bournemouth.

The new employee scheme offers staff the ability to access six free counselling sessions per presenting issue per year and 24/7 telephone support.

It also includes a childcare and elderly care matching service to help signpost those caring for children or elderly parents to care facilities in their area and provide emotional guidance when returning to work.

Employees are also able to take advantage of the LifeWorks Wellbeing Platform and Mobile App which offers a variety of specialist self-help programmes and online health risk assessments. The app also offers savings and discounts available with more than 1,600 retailers as an added perk.

Cailin Knight, HR officer at Daish’s Holidays, said: “As a family business, our employees are at the heart of what we do. We value and care for our employees like family and it’s important to us that we provide all teams with appropriate mental health and wellbeing support. Stress affects us all, whether it’s managing workload, general anxiety, financial worries or arranging childcare, and we’re delighted that we can now offer this great service for free to the hundreds of staff here a Daish’s.”

Daish’s Holidays offers a range of staff benefits such as enhanced pay after three months of employment, an extra paid day off on the employee’s birthday, a buy and sell holiday scheme and staff getaway discount at all of its hotels.

Paul Harper, commercial director at Daish’s Holidays, said: “Taking a well-deserved break is a great way to relax which is why we offer a generous holiday discount scheme for employees, and their friends and family, to enjoy. We’re also rolling out a ‘wellness basket’ across all 12 hotels after it has been such a huge success in our central office. It boasts complimentary fruit, sweet treats, lunch pots, hot water bottles and other comfort items as we believe our staff deserve a treat that will take their minds away from their daily tasks.”
