Maven makes partner promotion on back of growth in South

Maven Capital Partners has promoted Bristol based Luke Matthews to the position of partner following his contribution to operations across the Thames Valley and wider South West region.

Since joining Maven in early 2019, he has played an important role in helping Maven to become one of the most active private equity firms in the lower-middle market across the Thames Valley.

With a primary focus on growth capital investments, Matthews has been influential in many of Maven’s recent technology deals executed across the South of England, including investments in AdTech specialists Nano Interactive, satellite monitoring systems provider Horizon Technologies, Big Data analytics business Cardinality, Bristol-based software company Bud Systems, cybersecurity consultancy CYSIAM, and Oxford-based climate technology specialist M2030.

He brings 15 years of experience in corporate finance and private equity to bear in his new role, having previously worked for Connection Capital, Nova Capital Management, UBM, and KPMG. He will continue to help Maven deliver on its commitment to support ambitious, innovative, and growth-focused businesses across the region.

Bill Nixon, managing partner at Maven, said: “Luke is an accomplished PE professional and a valued team member. His contribution to deals in cutting-edge, growth-focused technology firms have played a key role in Maven’s success across the region. He is also a well-respected member of the corporate finance community in the Thames Valley and across the South West of England, and I’m very pleased to be announcing this well-deserved promotion.”
