Engineering firm appoints senior exec to its board

Engineering firm Spirax-Sarco has appointed a senior executive to its board.

The Cheltenham-based thermal energy management and fluid technology solutions specialist has appointed Constance Baroudel as an independent non‑executive director, with immediate effect.

Constance is sector chief executive, environmental and analysis and chief sustainability officer at Halma.

She has previously held a range of executive positions within Halma, as well as with First Group, De La Rue and Strategic Decisions Group.

Constance has related board experience, having previously held non-executive director positions at both Kier Group and Synergy Health as well as a broad range of knowledge and qualifications, including an MSc in International Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics, an MSc in Corporate Finance and Strategy and a BA in International Relations, both from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.

Spirax-Sarco chair Jamie Pike, Chair said: “I am delighted to welcome Constance to the board of directors.  In this role, she will combine her strong financial, strategic and non-executive experience with her knowledge of large, global organisations, to support the ongoing sustainable growth and success of our group.”

The appointment is part of the succession planning undertaken by the nomination committee to recruit non-executive directors with the skills and experience required to support the implementation of the firm’s strategy for growth.

 

Spirax Sarco is headquartered in Cheltenham, has 40 strategically located manufacturing plants around the world and employs more than 10,000 people, including more than 2,100 direct sales and service engineers.

 

The company’s shares have been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1959 and it is on both of the FTSE 100 and the FTSE4Good Indexes.
