High profile speakers confirmed for Chamber business conference

Speakers for Dorset Chamber’s Future of Business Conference have been confirmed and include the economics editor of the Sunday Times and leaders in AI, placemaking and sustainability.

Keynote speaker David Smith is also the Sunday Times’ chief leader-writer, assistant editor and policy adviser, and has written books on economics.

The conference is to be held at Bournemouth’s Hilton Hotel on 10th October and will focus on the future of business. It is designed enable and inspire people on what lies ahead.

The event features five panel discussions with thought-leaders and big business names.

Themes for the session include ‘AI’, ‘ESG’, ‘Skills’, the ‘Future Workplace’ and ‘Town Centre Regeneration’.

Panels will be hosted by LBC’s business commentator Declan Curry, a journalist and broadcaster for more than 30 years.

Among the speakers is Lord Mark Price, the founder of WorkL, chair of FairTradeUK, and former managing director of Waitrose.

He will be joined by other industry leaders including Claire Whitaker CBE, CEO of Southampton Forward, Denz Ibrahim, head of retail and futuring at Legal & General, Jake Moore, a global cyber-security adviser at ESET, and tech expert Adam Greenwood, a TEdX speaker, entrepreneur and founder of Greenwood Campbell.

Other panellists include tech consultant Michelle Jacques of Reach plc, Howard Gunstock, eco-champion and chief kelper of Carbon Kapture, Emily Fripp of Efeca, and the CEO of YMCA Bournemouth, Dr Gareth Sherwood.

Ian Girling, chief executive of Dorset Chamber, who is organising the event as part a four-day business festival, said: “AI, sustainability and skills will be some of the core discussions taking place, as we look at the major influences affecting businesses.
