Opening date for Plymouth’s newest venue revealed

Plymouth’s newest venue Spinners has announced it will open its doors on October 12 following a £1.2m investment.

The interactive games bar will be located at Drake Circus The Barcode, a leisure and entertainment destination in the heart of the city.

Spinners Plymouth will play host to a clayshot concept, where the classic British pursuit will be brought indoors.

Situated on The Barcode’s lower ground floor, guests can choose between five clay shooting booths, five Duckpin bowling lanes as well as two darts oches.

Table service offers freshly prepared food such as artisan pizzas and sharing platters.

Amy Trott, head of operations at Spinners UK, said: “Following the success of Reading, we’re delighted to welcome Spinners to Plymouth. Guests can expect unique games, such as the clay shooting game, which is the first of its kind. The reduced lane length and smaller pins and balls that feature in Duckpin bowling mean that there’s more rivalry to be had – we just encourage guests to keep it as healthy competition!”

Greg Lumley, centre director at Drake Circus added: “We’re always on the hunt for exciting new brands and experiences to bring to Drake Circus and The Barcode, so it’s fantastic to be able to welcome Spinners. It’s a great addition to our leisure offering, giving people in Plymouth a totally new interactive games concept.

“I’m sure it’ll be hugely popular when it opens next month, especially in the lead up to the festive party season!”

Operating over two floors, Spinners has capacity of 150 and will open daily, from midday until late. The upstairs of the venue plays host to a private bar, which is available for events and exclusive use.

Spinners Plymouth is the second interactive bar from the group, with the launch of Spinners in Reading in June 2021.
