Global professional firm welcome new starters

A global professional services firm has welcomed new talent to its office in Bristol.

AON has seen the arrival of an apprentice, one placement year student, and eight recent graduates who will begin their careers with the company.

Working across a wide range of functional areas including investment, client management and actuarial consulting, the new joiners represent Aon’s commitment to inspiring and developing the next generation of inclusive leaders. The firm’s Early Careers Programmes provide meaningful work experience opportunities and the chance to enhance professional skills through on-the-job experience.

Aon’s apprentices follow a 18-month to two-year programme which combines education and work experience in parallel, on a pathway to securing a Foundation Degree. Industrial placement year students, meanwhile, are in their third year of a university course and working at Aon provides them with invaluable real-world experience before they return to complete their studies.

Aon’s graduate programme, known as ‘Launch,’ is designed to develop high performers so they can grow professionally, while transitioning smoothly into a full-time role.

Martin Parish, area director for Aon, said: “Providing a variety of pathways for young talent to gain experience and develop their skills is something we place significant importance on at Aon.

“It has been a pleasure to witness the enthusiasm that our recent graduates, placement students and apprentices have shown. they’ve wholeheartedly embraced the opportunities on offer to learn and develop new skills.”

Mira Rabbat is one of those who has recently joined Aon in Bristol. She commented:

“Having gained an Economics and Maths degree at the University of Edinburgh, I was keen to start my professional career in a company that offered global opportunities, and which had a positive reputation within the industry. With Aon, I’ve certainly gained that.

“There’s a lot to learn but with a strong emphasis on ‘keep asking questions’ – and with everyone proving to be so approachable, that isn’t proving too daunting. Looking to the future, given the size and scope of the company and with so many different areas to get involved in, I’m sure that I’ll find my own distinct niche.”
