Group revenues climb at Headlam

COLESHILL-based floor covering firm Headlam said today its total group revenue had increased by 5.5% in the first half of 2011.

In a trading update ahead of its interim results next month, Headlam also reports a year-on-year spike of 7.4% in UK revenues while its continental revenues fell by 4.5%.

Based on the group’s revenue performance, earnings for the six months to 30 June 2011 would be ahead of its board’s first half expectations, it said in a statement.

These latest results mirror its performance in the first four months of 2011 when revenues climbed year-on-year by almost 4%.

The company, which operates the brands Your Floors and Fun On The Floor, said overall group revenue during the first third of the year increased by 3.9%.

In the UK, revenue increased by 5.8% with the underlying like for like performance improving by 8.2%.

The group said the positive start to 2011 had been broadly consistent across its 49 businesses and five market sectors.
