Construction nears completion at 160-home scheme

Construction work is entering its final stages at a housing development in Burton-upon-Trent.

Bellway has started building the last homes at Henhurst Fields, a collection of three, four and five-bedroom houses off Henhurst Hill.

Since work began on the 160-home development in 2017, a total of 104 properties have been built and occupied.

Just 22 of the homes are yet to be sold, and construction is due to be completed on site by the summer.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is providing funding of £2m to local services, including £1.5m for schools.

Sales manager for Bellway, Heidi Higgins, said: “Henhurst Fields has attracted sustained interest from buyers at all stages of the property ladder. The selection of high-quality yet attainable homes coupled with the picturesque yet convenient location have been major factors in its appeal.

“The development has proved popular with workers at nearby Queens Hospital, while the fact that there are two schools rated Outstanding by Ofsted – Shobnall Primary School and John Taylor High School – within easy reach of the site is a huge draw for families.

“Henhurst Fields also ticks a lot of boxes for commuters. It’s just over three miles to the A38 while Burton railway station is only a five-minute drive away.”
