Sports equipment manufacturer snaps up land next to Birmingham HQ

Tandem Group, the manufacturer of sports equipment and toys, has acquired land next to its Birmingham headquarters for a new warehouse and distribution facility.

Contracts have been exchanged on  3.23 acres of land adjacent to its existing site in Castle Bromwich for cash consideration before expenses of £2.85m.

Completion is expected to take place by April.

The warehouse and distribution facility will link to its existing premises and the construction is expected to cost around £3.5m.

The project is set to be completed by June 2022.

The new building will more than double existing warehouse capacity in Birmingham to approximately 160,000 sq ft.

CEO Jim Shears stated “I’m delighted that we have exchanged contracts on the site.  The new warehousing and distribution facility will expand our existing operation and, coupled with the implementation of the new ERP system, will help us to further grow domestic business and enhance warehousing and distribution efficiency.”
