Search begins for new tenant of major city centre retail unit

The unit in Hanley

The former Go Outdoors unit in Hanley has been placed on the market.

Commercial agents at Harris Lamb have been instructed to source new occupiers for the site with almost 500 car parking spaces.

The former Go Outdoors unit on New Hall Street has a 92,431 sq ft floor space, with 480 undercroft parking spaces spread over three levels.

The city centre building is available as a whole or can potentially be divided into parts, says Harris Lamb.

Andrew Groves, of Harris Lamb’s Agency team, said: “This is a significant city centre building located on a two-acre site, so there is a great deal of potential for both redevelopment across a variety of uses, and a range of uses utilising the existing building to include warehousing/self storage, leisure and retail subject to the appropriate permissions being secured.

“The building has great access links, lying within easy reach of the UK motorway network via both Junctions 15 and 16 of the M6 . It is located a short distance from The Potteries Shopping Centre, the region’s principle retail centre.

“The property’s location, combined with its size and extensive car parking allocation, is likely to attract a number of interested parties with a broad range of future uses. We are presently looking to let or sell the opportunity as a whole, although we are prepared to discuss the potential to divide the building up for several occupiers.

“The owners are also open to offers to sell the freehold of the building, should a developer earmark the site for future use,” he added.
