Plans have been submitted for a major housing development on the Arbury Estate in Nuneaton, with proposals for up to 1,525 homes.

Land promoter Richborough is behind the plans for the 215-acre site, which has been allocated for residential use under the Borough Plan.

The development would feature a mix of housing, with 25% designated as affordable, along with a primary school, community amenities, and improved infrastructure and transport links.

Anabel Christmas, senior regional director at Richborough said: “We are excited to have submitted this application after many years of work by our multi-disciplinary team and consultants, as well as an extensive public consultation event with the local community.

“Arbury will be an attractive and enjoyable place to live that helps answer local housing needs. We look forward to working with Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council and other consultees to secure a positive outcome for the planning application and subsequently marketing the site to find a suitable delivery partner.”

Charlotte Lewis group design director at Richborough said: “Arbury will be a high-quality new neighbourhood, reflecting the local landscape, townscape and heritage. The design, which is focussed around a new community hub, is founded upon new greenways and wildlife corridors which encourage active travel and healthy lifestyles. A new neighbourhood park aims to bring together new communities, drawing on the character of the historic Arbury Estate and nearby Ensor’s Pool.”
