Barclays appoints regional team to support multinational clients

BARCLAYS has introduced two local relationship directors who will be responsible for the multinational corporate (MNC) sector.

Under the new structure each region will now have locally-based MNC relationship directors working closely with the central UK MNC team to establish and strengthen relationships with these businesses.

In the Midlands, Nigel Bailey and Andrew Budenberg have been appointed to these roles.

Ray O’Donoghue, Barclays’ managing director in the Midlands region, said: “Growing our multinational corporate franchise is a key pillar of our long-term corporate banking strategy.

“We are seeking to bring an increasing level of consistency in how we join up and run our MNC business internationally while strengthening our partnerships with regional business communities throughout the UK.”

Bailey, who will be based at the Bank’s Birmingham HQ at Snow Hill, said: “We want to do more business with the international subsidiaries of our global clients and a local understanding of a global organisation is a very good place to start.”
